Navigating Disney Magic While Pregnant

ree

My Personal Tips

  • Hydrate! I took a hydration backpack and it saved me!!! You can always ask for a free water cup at quick service locations as well. I just refilled the pack with ice water. I can send you the link if you want!

  • Take breaks! Although I didn’t want to taking breaks preferably with A/C was also just what I needed. I GO GO GO and having to stop seemed like a pain but I needed it. I was 23 weeks with extra fluid and diabetic (I was diabetic before pregnancy so I knew how to prepare for that) doing 14 hour days in the parks. I needed that rest.

  • You can ride almost everything! The great thing is you’re only missing out on a few things. But with your little one you may not experience those bigger rides anyway. I think that there are 3 that you can’t do. So don’t worry about missing out.

  • Take photos! Disney is a great place to get some good shots of the family of course but it’s also a fun spot to capture your pregnancy in this stage. Get creative :) I have some favorite spots if you’d like a list.

  • Take snacks! You’re growing a human! You can bring snacks in and keep up your energy. It saves money but also you’ll be fueled and ready to go. Plus you don’t have to stop in the line to get anything. But on that note enjoy all the food! You deserve it!

  • Take advantage of all the A/C! A lot of queues are inside. Soak up that coolness! Some attractions are great for a Power Nap!

  • Character meets are also a good way to get a break from walking.

  • For me my emotions were high especially when I was 8 months pregnant.. no one really talks about it but it’s a thing. You could get frustrated or cry easily, get a headache from all the “annoying” people… etc. stop and take a breath or a moment when you need to. It’s okay to just take a breath. Physically you may not but mentally sometimes it’s needed.

  • Meds: Always bring some pain meds/some nausea meds. If you forget go to the first aid center and they will give you a dose for free :) Plus those and the Mothers care centers are amazing and quiet.

  • Comfortable shoes: My On clouds saved my feet and back! Be sure to invest in some good shoes.

  • Breezy dresses or athletic wear is a must! Heavy materials were going to be uncomfortable and heavy.

  • Get a button from guest services at your resort. They can write that you are celebrating a pregnancy and some pixie dust may happen on your trip!

  • MY BIGGEST TIP: Bring a buddy with you!I did and I loved it! My friend didn't like thrill rides anyway so she was able to hang back with my while my hubby and son rode everything. It was a great way to spend time with my bestie in one of my FAVORITE places, plus I wasn't alone.

  • Have FUN! Just enjoy the magic! Think of when you bring back your little for the first time and they can experiernce all that the parks have to offer!

  • Other ways to beat the heat: I just window shopped.. okay ya'll know me.. I bought some great stuff for my little and his nursery. But on a serious note shopping is a great way to beat the heat!

Thank you so much for getting this far! I'm sure I have more tips but this is all I can think of at the moment!
